Go to small claims court no point trying to get them to do the right thing
I am a mechanic with 40 years of experience. The pool heater leaks at the plastic inlet manifold and has a warranty. I tried to get service from Hayward dealers and the manufacturer but was given the runaround. I was told they were either too busy or wouldn't look at it because they didn't install it.
There was a very arrogant response telling me I needed to get a Hayward installer and permits before they would look at it. So, I asked for a refund and was told no. I asked for a replacement and was told no.
Hayward was once a reputable company, not any longer. Their warranty isn't worth anything.

They refer you to Leslies pools who is no help either. Choose other companies

Bring pump home and fittings are different . Leslie pool employees clueless. Perhaps Hayward should get more involved.

Call was very confusing. Am not a pissed consumer, not yet anyway.
Never got to talk to anyone. I have a part that needs to be replaced on a system that is one month old.
How do I get it done? Would like to talk to a real person.

We had an inground pool installed in August 2021. Had the top of the line Hayward OmniLogic PL software installed along with a Hayward heat pump, Tristar VS 950 pump, and Hayward cartridge filter system.
Just 2 weeks ago, the system stopped running and we find out now that the motherboard is bad (8 months past the warranty) and the replacement cost is $1,799 + tax and installation. Hayward is unwilling to back their product.
Sorry that happened... I wouldn't endorse their products to anyone...

Just over a year ago, I bought a $700 piece of pool equipment. Its broken. Theres no warranty and I was supposed to get $150 off which I never received extremely unhappy with Hayward.

Hayward will not warrant my heater that is less than one year old. Their tech said my water was too acidic and corroded the core.
I informed them that my pool tech had just added acid right where he was taking a water sample. Therefore, they offered me a new unit at a reduced price. I paid for it and was charged eight days ago. They still have not shipped it.
They do not return my calls when they promise they will. My previous heater lasted eight years. One tech says it takes 30-60 days to receive the heater due to freight.
Another tech states that there are units available and doesn't understand why it hasn't been shipped. They promise to follow up but do not.
Preferred solution: Full refund and a new heater under warranty
Good customer service
I am a service technician at a local pool supply and we have been selling Hayward Pool Products for a long time. We also sell Jandy and Pentair and Donald Freeze who is a rep over Louisiana in Mississippi has been a big help anytime.
I have a problem troubleshooting I can call him at either. He answers the phone or he called me back if hes in a meeting or on another job and he will spend hours on the phone with me if thats what it takes to get the problem solved so I think hes doing a really great job

After encountering issues with my salt generating system, I reluctantly reached out to Hayward's customer support. What followed was a series of frustrating interactions that left me questioning their commitment to customer satisfaction.
Firstly, the lengthy wait times were disheartening. Three conversations later, I found myself amidst a cacophony of distractions, barking dogs and restless children as I attempted to explain my predicament. Despite detailing the recurring issue of my system resetting nightly, I received no more than a generic PDF file on how to reset the salt generator, a solution readily available with a simple internet search.
Feeling undervalued and ignored, I took matters into my own hands. And what do you know? The solution wasn't rocket science; it was a faulty flow switch, a minor fix that had eluded Hayward's purported experts.
The kicker? I had already shelled out a hefty $1800.00 for a new salt generating system, only to discover that a fraction of that amount could have remedied the problem.
My hope in sharing this tale is not to disparage Hayward but to caution fellow consumers. Demand better. Demand responsiveness. And demand accountability. Because when it comes to customer service, anything less is simply unacceptable.
Let my experience serve as a beacon of awareness, urging companies like Hayward to prioritize customer satisfaction over profit margins. After all, in the age of social media and online reviews, reputations are built or broken one customer interaction at a time.

Products and c/s are awful
We had our gas pool heater replaced through AHS in August 2021 (Hayward model H150FDN.
It is leaking and not working so I called AHS. They sent a plumbing co who said the heater needs to be replaced.
When I looked online it says the heater should last 7-12 years! Terrible product.

Die Haywardpoolanlage ist nicht richtig eingestellt.
Es kann nicht sein das eine Firma die solche Systeme verkauft, nicht in der Lage ist ein Kundendienst auf die Beine zu stellen. Vorallem bei Geräte die Riesenprobleme hinterlassen wenn die nicht richtig funktionieren.
Gerade beim Poolwasser. Wasser wird grün, oder wird nicht erwärmt wegen Wärmepumpe.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. They finally call and fixed the software issue.
Poor service as they refuse to call after sending emails back and forth to resolve an issue of not accessing your Haywood OmniLogic app.spent a day with back and forth emails as they refused to connect me with a qualified tech who knows how to fix the issue. Refused to call me or escalate the issue with upper level management.

My Tiger Shark Pool Cleaner has been working flawlessly. I recently replaced both rollers and the unit was working fine.
Suddenly the rollers won't move.
Water is being pushed through the top, but there is no movement. Any suggestions?

What is up with Hayward? One customer service number is disconnected.
Another one is closed on a Wednesday at 2:00 pm AZ time. One more stated, 'If you're a consumer, press 1.' So, I did and the recording said, 'Contact your local Hayward dealer.' Finally, I did connect with an agent - a young lady that must have been sleeping, as I seemed to have woken her up. She acted half awake and told me to look online for some help, as there are a lot of people on line or to look in my manual.
That is what Hayward has been reduced to. It's very sad.

Verified Buyer |Defective product
Purchased a Turbo cell for the salt pool in June 2023 , paid $1249 (plus taxes). In July 2024 the cell no longer works and Hayward customer service refuses to honor the warranty. It was used for 7 months before failing.

Verified ReviewerJunk spa heater. Wouldn’t service it. My customer uses for baptism. 3 weeks they wouldn’t come out.
Wouldn't let me return it. It was automatically our fault.
Heating elements were loose and water sprayed all over the electrical, which then shorted out. They refused to honor the warranty.
