Hayward heaters are junk

My pool guy suggested Hayward when it was time to replace the old heater (Teledyne) we had and it has been a huge mistake, the unit we have is a 250H and the pilot light refuses to stay on, they designed this POS so you have to lay on the floor to find the pilot light and re-light everytime you go to use the heater , i have been dealing with Hayward now (under warranty) and good luck getting anyone to come and fix this thing , do your self a favour dont buy HAYWARD

Contacted Hayward tech support regarding a defective salt cell and compatibility issues of control panel and certain cells, never got an answer, even after 3 attempts over a period of 3 weeks. Either there are only a few case workers that are totally overworked and can't fight the inquiry load, they simply don't care, or they have a messaging system maintained by a high-school student. Either way, completely unacceptable ! Must be one of the worst companies regarding customer service that I've ever encountered.

Hayward Super Pump VSP Controller Failure

Pulled 10 month old pump out for install (stored indoors for winter per recommendation) Started pump which ran for short time before controller went blank. Emails from Hayward list 3 Hayward dealers to bring pump to but none will honor work since I purchased online.. After several days post indicating I expected a support call still nothing. I'm guessing Hayward supports dealer warranty repairs poorly so the shops have no interest in working on the products.. Poorest customer service for an $800.00 product ever.. Why would I purchase any of their products again. Contacting States Attornys office as this was purchased thru my States energy conservation rebate program

Worst customer service...EVER

My Hayward Heatpro pool heater is still under warranty. It’s only a year old. There isn’t anyone in my area that services them. I’ve called numerous times only to get emails with links of troubleshooting my problem. You can not speak to anyone in the technical department. I’m making some calls to the Better Business Bureau!

Heat exchanger fail less than 2 seasons

No help from dealer or hayward. Replacement exchanger is more expensive than new heat. Junk society junk product junk company..maybe the japanese engineers could show the american how to build

Not a company for DIYers

Worst customer Service I have encountered in 25 years of pool Service. They do not have a simple diagram of where the O-ring fits and how to fit the llid back on after cleaning the cartridge. They want me to call my dealer to pay them to come out.

Poor quality control system

The Hayward pool omnilogic system continues to have faults with wifi and the app is very poorly designed. It is an extremely frustrating system to operate and i would not recommend using a Hayward system for a residential pool installation. The interfaces and menus are not user friendly and to perform one function you must go through multiple steps and then make adjustments to pump speed, etc. after the system runs for a while. In a world of simple automation, Hayward lags considerably in their approach and systems.

Hayward Pool Products - Beware the fake 2 yr warrantee.

Bought their products for years, but when defective, their warrantee says 2 years, but is ONLY parts, NOT labor. And you must take the product to a contractor who profits only from charging you.

Their vacuums are fine when work, but increasingly over the years the workmanship deteriorated. Now if you don't get a replacement from the supplier, after 30 days, you must go to one of Haywards local contractors.

I purchased a Model 2025ADC, the turbine started sticking and then seldom worked after 30 days. I have rebuilt these in the past so know how to clean and check for debris etc. Clearly the gear box is jamming every few minutes.

Now I understand why they have started to give rebates, can't sell these defective products and don't adequately back them up.

Same experience. Installed 16 x30 I ground pool with Hayward products.

Four years in I now have to replace the pump which is the second replacement in four years. Just had to replace the cell also. They say all products have 3 year warranty but THATS NOT TRUE. Installed 4 years ago pump replaced with 1 1/2 year and now I need another one.

STAY AWAY FROM HAYWARD PUMPS AND CELLS. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRODUCTS!!!

heater started to leak after 3 months- had to fight to get them to replace leaking heat exchanger. 6 months later leaking again- company will not honor. do not buy from this company- their stuff is garbage.

Hayward Pool Pump SP3010EEAZ

I ordered this pool pump through inyopools.com online on 09/04/2018 .I received and installed it on 09/15/2018. Went to turn the pump on and a puff of smoke came out of the motor.

Living in Florida I could not go any longer without a pool pump so I replaced the motor with another. On Monday I called inyopools about what happened and they told me that I might have to send back the pump and motor. There is nothing wrong with the pump. I just want the motor replaced.

I have had 2 of these heaters and both were terrible! I was told this last one had a cascading failure which is short for replace heater! Never buy one again!!
